Job Summary:
Accountable for managing plant production activities across multiple shifts and/or departments to produce products that meet established quality, customer service, safety, innovation and cost metrics consistent with schedules and policies. Implements standard work and maintains improvement through sustaining behaviors, operating with discipline and rigor, implementing autonomous maintenance. Oversees the production of quality products to fulfill customer requirements. Controls and effectively utilizes the production capacity, manpower and equipment and outside resources through planning, organizing and scheduling to minimize losses; works within the framework of the budget to optimize company profitability.
This is a 450 person, Union food manufacturing facility. This plant specifically produces VanCamps Beans and Hunts Tomato products. This facility uses thermal processing; Rotary and Hydrostatic.

Job Responsibilities:
:
Develop and execute department specific strategic vision, mission and objectives to assure continuous improvement and alignment with enterprise vision, mission and objectives.
:
Drive employee engagement, training and development to maximize safety, quality, and productivity.
:
Provide direct oversight for the department ( 85 people), overseeing team leads across three shifts.
:
Provide leadership for assessing and enhancing plant capabilities.
:
Develop and manage department budget including capital expenditures and cost management.
:
Assure regulatory compliance including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, USDA, FDA, FLSA, EEO, OFCCP and NLRB.
:
Ensure all quality standards, specifications and policies are met or exceeded, drive continuous process / manufacturing improvements and collaborates with Research and Development in product development and implementation.
:
Develop a culture based on open / honest dialogue and involvement of all team members that demonstrates the value of their input / engagement in improving performance.
:
Provide leadership for diversity and positive community involvement / relations.
:
Drive a culture of high performance and accountability in employee and product safety as well as other aspects of the business.
:
Collaborate with Human Resources and other function leaders to create and execute effective employee relations processes and develops team leaders to do the same in order to maintain a positive working environment and support the labor relations philosophy.
Qualifications/
Education/Experience/Skills:
:
Minimum 5 : 7 Years Manufacturing experience required.
:
Minimum 3 years in a production supervision or production management role in a plant required.
:
Bachelors Degree (i.e. Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, Food Science, Management, Operations, Biology).
:
Manufacturing experience in a Nondurable (fast moving) CPG, Chemical or related USDA/FDA industry preferred. Union experience preferred.
:
Proven leadership Competencies in addition to Ethics / Values and Integrity required.
:
Results driven, Action Oriented, and ability to problem solve with a strategic vision required.
:
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation skills required.
:
Business, Analytical and Financial Acumen Required.
