Position Summary

Preparation and production of quality food products for patient, caf and catering. Responsibilities could include: cold food preparation, room service entrees, retail entrees, grill and display cooking. Maintains area and equipment in a clean and sanitary condition. Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED

Must be a graduate of a culinary institute or a graduate of a college level vocational food service training program or a graduate of a high school vocational food service program with at least two years of experience under a certified chef or four years of training under a certified chef

Some knowledge of weights and measurements

Requires the ability to make change and keep records accurately

Ability to move about the hospital and between workstations

Ability to communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills

Ability to tolerate exposure to temperature changes, humid/hot conditions and unpleasant odors

Occasionally move heavy carts and frequently lift light to medium weight equipment and supplies

Ability to maintain a productive work pace
