TheElectrical Engineer is responsible for servicing, protecting and improving the Plant Operations and facility by focusing on value:added activities, quality of workmanship, and customer satisfaction. This role acts as a direct liaison between Plant Engineering and Corporate Engineering. The Electrical Engineer will work with Corporate Engineering in developing new systems and installations as well as assisting in the modification of existing electric drives and controls so that the maximum efficiency can be obtained from them. This role will also be responsible for training plant electricians in electronic drive systems as well as trouble shooting electrical and electronic control systems.
:Liaison between Plant Engineering and Corporate Engineering
:Assists in design and implementation of electromechanical systems
:Develop/design electronic control systems in retrofitting and improving existing systems
:Training of Maintenance personnel in electronic controls
:Troubleshoot electrical drives and control programming for plant equipment
:Develop and maintain complete electrical drawings on plant equipment
:Develop base knowledge of new plant equipment, which is being incorporated in the plant to increase plant efficiency
:Develop total systems understanding to allow for more plant development of controls and processes
:Develop understanding of plant power systems to provide assistance with future plant needs
Knowledge and Skills
:Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
:Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
:Computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint).
:Experience with Auto:Cad, R.S LOGIX, Wonder Ware
:Knowledge of the National Electric Code
Interaction with Others
:Work closely all plant departments and Corporate Engineering.
:Consistently exhibit Libbey Values in all interactions with Libbey associates.
:Work effectively with vendors, contractors, suppliers, and utility company representatives.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
:Frequent use of both desktop and laptop computers.
:Occasional standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, sitting.
:Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers to operate office tools.
:Frequent speaking/listening in face:to:face and/or phone conversations. Frequent standing/walking in glass production environment.
:Work areas with variance from extreme heat to extreme cold.
:Frequent reaching above shoulders, stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching. Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds.
:Mechanical and electrical hazards will be present in the workplace.
:Work in glass production area with associated safety equipment.
:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering Technology
:2 years' experience in Allen Bradely and PLC Programming
