Reports To: x2028; General Manager, Commissary Manager, Catering Manager or Ownership depending on the discipline Shift Manager is assigned.
Date: x2028; 12/18/16
Position Structure:
The Shift Manager reports to the General Manager, Commissary Manager, Catering Manager or Ownership depending on the discipline assigned. In the absence of a General Manager, Commissary Manager, Catering Manager or Ownership the following employees report to the Shift Manager: Team Members.
Must have open availability.
Position Objectives
To support
Management/Ownership in achieving the companys growth objectives by maximizing sales and controlling expenses.
To fulfill his/her responsibilities in accordance with the Companys principles of leadership and organization.
40 hours a week approved not guaranteed.
Position Responsibilities
The individual holding this position is accountable for the performance of his or her subordinates, and the completion of the position responsibilities listed below.
1. Communicates and models Deets standards for guest service.
a. Assures compliance with the companys guest service guidelines. x2028;
b. Assures appropriate resolution of guest concerns. x2028;
2. Manages the appearance of the store, commissary and atmosphere of catering events in conjunction with standard set within Deets BBQ.
a. Assures that store and commissary cleanliness standards are maintained. x2028;
b. Assures proper stock level through appropriate product ordering. x2028;
c. Assures menu boards are always accurate x2028;
d. Assures the quality and freshness of products. x2028; x2028;
e. Provides a safe environment for employees and guests by identifying and rectifying hazards. x2028;
3. Assists in managing the training, development and performance of store, commissary and/or catering personnel.
a. Trains, develops and evaluates store personnel to retain a motivated and professional workforce. Periodically evaluates work performance of subordinates for purposes of promotional opportunities; helps develop each subordinate to achieve their maximum potential.
b. Communicates and models the vision and values of the company to create a proper work environment and sense of teamwork among employees. x2028;
c. Communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to store personnel to assure desired results. x2028;
d. Assures compliance with established operating policies and procedures. Counsels employees to modify and change their behavior, and records such counselings in writing when deemed appropriate. x2028;
e. Monitors employee performance and gives advice to subordinates when deemed appropriate; decides whether to issue a written counseling or criticism to a subordinate employee, which may be later used as a basis for discipline; recommends more severe personnel actions to ownership.
4. Supports overall company in the achievement of controllable expense goals depending on the discipline worked.
a. Assists in the achievement of labor goals. 1) Coordinates job activities of subordinate personnel; decides the tasks that an employee will perform on a daily and/or extended basis, along with the timing and location of those tasks; in making these decisions, the Shift Manager will consider a variety of factors, including but not limited to the skills and abilities of subordinates, anticipated long and short:term store volume and job tasks needing completion. x2028;
b. 2) Modifies work schedules and staffing levels when deemed appropriate, in order to respond to changed circumstances; may call in additional staffing and/or approve request overtime approval from ownership for subordinates in order to achieve store productivity goals. x2028;
c. Assists in achievement of, store food cost goals. x2028;
d. Assures adherence to cash control policies and procedures to minimize cash loss. x2028;
