Job DescriptionDean of Education Professional Skills Institute is seeking a qualified Dean of Education, the DOEwill act as the campus academic affairs leader and member of the campus management team. This is a Full-Time, exempt position. The position is accountable for ensuring quality and integrity across all campus academic functions. The DOE will work closely with program directors, program coordinators and faculty to ensure guidance and management. This position will be responsible for the overall coordination and management of instructional staff and curriculum development and will contribute to the overall company growth, health and strategic direction by performing the following duties:Essential Functions· Promote academic achievement and student satisfaction consistent with established education objectives, quality standards, and fiscal responsibility.· Coordinate and conduct training and professional development opportunities as needed for faculty, which includes workshops, seminars and teaching skill development.· Work with program directors, coordinators and faculty regarding classroom management, lesson planning, and theory- lab correlation. Evaluate this annually.· Conduct annual reviews of program directors and coordinators and assist directors and coordinators in doing the same with instructional staff.· Manage/direct the faculty/staff evaluation process.· Oversee all personnel matters involving academic employees including; recruiting, appointment, dismissal, faculty evaluation, and approval(s) of faculty workload plans.· Anticipates, prevents and resolves conflicts and problems under areas of supervision.· Serves as a liaison between program coordinators and staff members.· Supervises Program Coordinator schedules.· Maintains Master Curriculum for all programs.· Interacts with Admissions Department to anticipate class starts and schedules.· Oversee attendance and academic progress of “AT Risk” students.· Identifies at risk students and makes recommendations for Leave of Absence (LOA) and remedy challenges and efforts.· Approves and assists in selecting and or developing teaching aids, such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials and reference books.· Publish classroom schedules.· Conduct student surveys.· Perform other duties as assigned.Competencies· Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.· Excellent organizational skills.· Demonstrate professionalism at all times. Maintain solid working relationships with all program coordinators. Maintain current licensure as required by your professional governing body· Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of field or discipline. Stay current in subject matter through professional development, involvement in professional organizations, attending professional meetings, conferences or workshops, continuing education opportunities and in-services. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in communication with students, colleagues, staff and administrators as an individual or on a team. Ability to work efficiently as a team player. Maintain confidentiality of student information. Excellent communication, customer service, problem-solving, organization and follow-up skills Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer & Power PointSupervisory Responsibilities: This position will assume supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The Ideal Candidate: Will have - experience in Program management and development, experience in new program development, experience in compliance with the BON, accreditors and State DOE. Ability to build and maintain and effective team. A strong commitment to student achievement and retention and the ability to drive results in those areas. Salary: Extremely competitive compensation plan, salary to be determined based upon experience. Education: Masters degree preferred
