Job Classification: Full-Time RegularCurriculum Administrative Director Education The Toledo Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee, a registered apprenticeship program with the Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training, is seeking an Administrative Director. While working congruently with the Training Director, The Administrative Director will be responsible to assist in duties assigned by the TEJATC committee, including but not limited to; Supervise the actives of clerical staff, instructors and other assume responsibility for the property of the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee Handle discipline per Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee policy Shared duties with the JATC Training Director Develop, review and maintain all records and forms of JATC Prepare information for the JATC meetings Make recommendations on ways and means to improve the program Keep abreast of all the trends and changes in the industry and provide this information to the JATC for their consideration Write correspondence for JATC to communicate with all parties concerned including apprenticeship openings and affirmative action Represent the JATC at all meetings, conferences, conventions and advisory boards as directed Related to Apprentice Arrange with contractor before referral of who, what, why, where and when apprentice is reporting to Check work reports to see if they are properly filled out and current Arrange for testing of those requesting credit, and have on-the-job training evaluation from contractor prior to starting class Maintain and review file of all new starts prior to starting of school Arrange for enrollment of all apprentices in related training classes Process all veteran's papers and certify monthly check after reviewing records Terminate Veteran Administration Benefits when eligibility runs out Review each folder prior to advancement Notify apprentice when they are to appear before the JATC and arrange for appearance Notify apprentice of any JATC Committee action Send out and review on-the-job evaluations and personally contact individual journeyman and contractors concerning attitude, dependability, mechanical ability, willingness to learn and other comments to each apprentice Invoke any penalties the JATC levies against the apprentice Notify the Local Union when probationary period is over and apprentice is ready for membership Be available to counsel any apprentice anytime concerning the Apprenticeship Agreement Shared duties with the JATC Training Director Job visitations should be made to check progress of OJT Collect all book fees prior to or at time of registration each year Review all terminations and arrange for re-employment in accordance with request from contractors or diversification of training after reviewing apprentice's file Through personal contact, observe, determine and note abilities of the apprentice to meet and satisfy the conditions of the job assignments Administer any other policy set for the by the JATC or other agencies aforementioned Concerning the Local Union Arrange for the proper procedure of membership and Journeyman status Consult with Business Manager and Representatives concerning obligations of an apprentice as a member Notify local union of job placement of each apprentice when referred by JATC Arrange for Journeymen Training Courses and up-date Journeymen Make available names of journeymen completing training courses with special skills Request cooperation of journeymen for responsibility of OTJ instructions of apprentice Shared duties with the JATC Training Director Notify the Local Union of any advancements, suspensions, cancellations or actions taken by the JATC, concerning apprentices Represent the Local Union as part of the Industry on JATC matters or by direction of the JATC Concerning the Employer Contact signatory Employers to arrange for employment and training of apprentices Notify employer of advancement, actions, on-job-training reports of the apprentice Arrange for Safety, First Aid and OSHA Seminars or Courses as per their requirements Respond to their bona fide requests for employing those in training Encourage them to participate in apprenticeship training and actives of the JATC program Indenturing organizational apprentices for new contractors in accordance with the apprentice pay scale, work experience and related training background and JATC policy Shared duties with the JATC Training Director Consult with Employers, Superintendents and Foreman concerning progress or problems of apprentices Represent them as part of the Industry of Joint Apprenticeship Committee matters or by direction of the JATC Make JATC facilities and records available upon request Request of individual contractors for use of their facilities, operations and expertise when applicable For the Instructor Arrange for teachers' credentials through State Board Arrange for contract with local school districts Provide necessary supplies, roster, films, curriculum and speakers as needed Requirements for the Administrative Director; Bachelor in Education is a minimum requirement. Master's degree in education with a background including teacher evaluations, school administration and professional development for teachers preferred. 7 years or 10k hours of classroom experience of instruction A working knowledge and comprehension of electrical theory A working knowledge of electrical construction and practices Practical Experience in the electrical field or completion of an electrical apprenticeship
