Job Classification: Temp-to-PermanentBasic Job Functions: Provides custom software development, technical design, configuration, and troubleshooting. Area of focus is custom web and API solutions built on cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, Salesforce.com) but may include other applications as needed, both on-premises and cloud-hosted. Works as a developer on an Agile Scrum team to collaboratively deliver the sprint backlog, which feeds into the overall product backlog as defined by the Product Owner. Also provides troubleshooting, system analysis, documentation, estimates, code reviews and team feedback as part of the overall application lifecycle. Experience and Education: * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (or related field) with three years of related work experience; OR * Associate's degree in Information Technology (or related field) with six years of related work experience; OR * High School Diploma or GED with eight years related work experience * 3+ years in software development using Microsoft .NET technologies Required Skills/Competencies: * 3+ years developing and working with web applications including: C#, ASP.NET, SQL, Entity Framework, HTML, JavaScript, CSS * 3+ years supporting applications for medium-to-large size company, preferably with multiple locations and global footprint * 2+ years with Angular or similar JavaScript library * 1+ year with Windows Azure PaaS services (Cloud Services, App Services, Storage, Azure SQL, Azure Functions, etc.) * 1+ years working on an Agile Scrum team * 1+ years working in multiple environments (eg Dev, QA, Production) to develop, test and promote code * 1+ years using a formal source control system for code check-ins, merging, versioning, and branching (eg TFS, Visual Studio Team Services, Git, etc.) * Experience with automated build / continuous integration preferred * Experience with unit testing or test driven development (TDD) preferred * Experience building custom solutions on the FORCE.com (Salesforce platform) preferred * Proven experience with software development life cycle, change management process, and version control packages * Demonstrated understanding of fundamental technologies in a Microsoft environment: operating systems, networking, middleware, security, databases, etc. * Excellent communication and organization skills * Excellent troubleshooting / analysis skills * Proven interpersonal skills Essential Responsibilities: * Develops software solutions based on multi-tiered architecture using Microsoft Windows on-premises and Azure PaaS platform, C#, ASP.NET, T-SQL, designing data structures, and using/configuring SQL Server databases. * Works with a global team of architects and developers to contribute to solutions and help estimate work effort based on product owner requirements. * Provides input to create and drive processes for the software development (such as code standards, build processes, etc.). * Undertakes analytical activities and deliver analysis outputs as needed and conforming to agreed standards. * Within given technical research goals, builds on and refines appropriate outline ideas for research, ie evaluation, development, demonstration and implementation. * Maintains awareness of new technology to address challenges or to enable new ways of working. * Works to further organizational goals by use of emerging technologies and products, may contribute to presentations to the wider organization. * Provides expertise and support on use of methods and tools. * Applies data analysis and data modeling techniques to establish, modify or maintain a data structure and its associated components (entity descriptions, relationship descriptions, attribute definitions). * Undertakes complete design of simple applications using simple templates and tools. Assists as part of a team on design of components of larger systems. Produces detailed designs including for example: physical data flows, file layouts, common routines and utilities, program specifications or prototypes, and backup, recovery and restart procedures. * Translates and implements simple development project requirements into physical database structures. Assesses proposed changes to object and data structures and implements these changes in physical databases. Assists in database management system support activities for operational database systems. * Applies tools and methods to identify the user experience, user's characteristics and tasks, and the technical, organizational and physical environment in which the product or system will operate. * Produces software builds for promotion into target environments. Contributes to the runtime environment configuration, produces and conducts tests, recording details of any failures and carrying out fault diagnosis. * Uses the tools and techniques for specific areas of release and deployment activities. Administers the recording of activities, logging of results and documents technical activity undertaken. May carry out early life support activities such as providing support advice to initial users. * Assists in the investigation and resolution of issues relating to applications. * Investigates problems in systems and services.
