This is a traveling Desktop/Field Technician role. The Tier 2 Queue Management Team will mitigate Tier 2 ticket queue and manage new Tier 2 tickets over the phone. The tickets will be sent to out team via the current service desk provider. There will also be a core group of traveling (75%), regional field technicians that will conduct implementation and project work within their geographic support locations.Top Required Skills:Experience being 'the face' of IT for Desktop related issueso Printer connectivity, reimage PC, troubleshoot hardware and softwareExcellent customer service and communication skillsExperience working with networking hardware / removing and replacing Racks (Cisco products) - will be the 'smart hands' resource for LVL 3 resources*Must be able to troubleshoot network connectivity issues before sending the ticket to level 3. Understand basics of how to run cable. ** Must be willing to travel up to 75% to regional based locations The Field Technicians are responsible for but not limited to the following.A remote Field Support Team to visit the field locations to perform deskside support activities while also being the "smart hands" for Tier 3, issue resolution. The Installation/ Removal/Testing/Maintenance or troubleshooting of infrastructure hardware to include:o Routerso Switcheso 819's/829'so UPS'so Riverbedso Wireless Controllerso Wireless Access Pointso Cablingo Rackso Patch panelsProject related tasks that have been approved by Infrastructure Leado Ex. - router or switch replacement projectsScheduling visits with remote siteso The Network Smart Hand will work with End User Experience SDC to develop a schedule for visitso The Network Smart Hand will be responsible for contacting the remote sites after the schedule has been developedo The Network Smart Hand will be responsible for booking flights, car rental, and making hotel reservations if neededo All travel will be guided utilizing the Travel PolicyCoordinating hardware replacement with appropriate network and remote site personnelNotifying site of possible down time or impact due to hardware replacementProviding weekly updates or as requested per project/activityAbout TEKsystems:Join TEKsystems(R), a leading IT staffing, IT talent management and IT services firm, and get your career on the fast track.
